World Languages
To be successful in the study of a second language, a student should have strong reading and writing skills in English or his/her native language. Even though there is not a World language requirement for graduation from Kennewick High School, most colleges/universities require two to three years of study of the same world language for admission.
Please note: In order for a student to continue into the second year of a world language course, he/she must receive a passing grade in both semesters of the world language course studied in the first year as well as a passing grade on the end-of-year exam.
