GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program) is a federally funded grant program that helps students prepare for and succeed in high school, higher education, and their future careers.
GEAR UP serves students in the Class of 2027 (high school seniors) and students in the Class of 2026 (currently in their first year of post-secondary education).
Our vision is that all students are academically, socially, and financially prepared to enter and successfully complete the post-secondary program or institution of their choice.

- Support applying for financial aid
- Support applying to post-secondary institutions of choice
Scholarship Opportunities
The GEAR UP team created a spreadsheet to help students discover and track scholarship opportunities. While this is not an exhaustive list of every scholarship available, it highlights opportunities where previous Kennewick High students have successfully applied and received funding. We encourage students to apply for any scholarship they qualify for, but keep in mind that students often have the highest success rate with local and state programs!
